Death of George E. Allen"George E. Allen, one of the oldest and best known residents of Medina, was fatally injured in a runaway accident on Saturday last while assiting in cartina a load from the alley back of Charles S. Swett's residence on Pearl Street/ Mr. Allen was on the load which tipped over when the team ran. He was carried to his home and Drs. Munson and Turner summoned, who did everything possible for the unfortunate man who proved to be beyond medical assistance and passed away on Tuesday night. Mr. Allen, who was seventy-seven years of age, was born in Brockport and had lived in the Allen homestead on Pearl Street for the last 51 years. He was married to Miss Eleanor Hunt in 1862, and last year the couple celebrated their golden wedding. He was street commissioner in Medina over twenty years and a life long democrat. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Miss May Allen, of Medina, and Mrs. Evelyn Rowe, of Harrisburg, PA; three sons, Leon Allen and Fred Allen of Rochester, and Daniel F. Allen of Medina; also by three brothers and one sister, Randall Allen of Medina, Harvey Allen of Michigan, Gilbert Allen of Alabama, and Mrs. Sarah Hunt of Medina. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the home with burial in Boxwood Cemetery."

Death of Mrs. Elnora Hunt Allen"Mrs. Elnora Hunt Allen, aged 92 years, widow of the late George E. Allen, passed away Friday at her home at Pearl Street, where she hadlived for the last 70 years, after a short illness of bronchial pneumonia. She was the oldest member of the Medina Methodist Church. Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Miss May Allen of Medina and Mrs. E. Fred Rowe of Harriburg Pa, two sons Danief F.H. of Medina and Fred of St. Petersburg Florida; one brother Burt Hunt of Rideway, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday afternoon Rev. C.A. Scrimshaw officiating.
