The Life of Grandma Cook
Grandma always worked hard to make a house a home. This photo is a glimpse at Grandma's home, probably on Nellis Park in Rochester. The twins are listening to the radio in the background, while the next born, Andy, plays with a pet rabbit. (Not a turtle!)

Her fifth and last child was born in 1953. This shot of Grandma and Tommy was taken at Nellis Park. Everyone who is old enough to remember our house of Nellis Park remembers the Cowboy and Indian wallpaper you can see in the background.

The family moved to Hemlock New York around 1958. She often said that her years in her home in Hemlock were among the best in her life. Here you see a birthday party in our backyard in Hemlock. Grandma is the slender woman on the right. Andy is the center with the black vest. Grandma's old friend Joan Armstrong is the other woman in the photograph. The baby is probably her granddaughter Michelle.

Grandma became an important part of the Hemlock community. She was active in St. Michael Church in nearby Livonia Center, was part of Home Circle and other women's groups, and was active in scouting. You see her here with one of her Cub Scouts.
