God had one more job for Grandma. Her son Andy was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 1998. Grandma stayed with him until his death in May of 1999. Her health failing, Grandma joined her son on August 11, 1999. |
This is the obituary that appeared in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. To the left is one of Grandma's prayer cards from the funeral. On the back was Grandma's favorite 21st Psalm, and at the Funeral Mass one of her most favorite hymn's "In the Garden" was played. She is buried near her Grandmother, Grace Smith Allen McAllister. |
All of us wish that Grandma could have stayed with us forever. In these hard days as we continue our lives, we must remember that Grandma IS with us, and WILL be as long as we keep her in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers. Let us live our lives as Grandma would want, and let us continue to celebrate her long life and her memory. To help share that memory, we will be making a "Memory Page" for Grandma. If you send me stories and memories, relating to Grandma, I will post them on the Memory Page. Send them to tscook@rochester.rr.com |
