Uncle Andy always had a special place in the home of Stillman and Margaret Cook. Although he was killed before I was born, his presence was always felt in our house. On our wall was a framed souvenir pillow cover with a poem to "Dear Sister" - mounted with this photograph. It is not known when or who composed this memorial photograph, but it may have been done by Stillman Cook with his photographic equipment sometime after WWII. I was often told of Uncle Andy's humor and love of life - and his music. The pillow and photograph still are still preserved and treasured in our home. |
This photograph is a real photo postcard of Andrew Woodrow Cook (left) and Frank Cook (right). Frank was probably a cousin. The photo was probably taken around 1940. This photograph was sent to us by our cousin Elaine Cook Roderick and was in the family photograph album of her parents, Philip and Mary Cook.

These photographs were taken of Andrew Woodrow Cook and friends when he was in the army - it appears that both were taken before they were shipped overseas. Uncle Andy is the the middle of both images. Elaine - thanks for these too! |
